Katherine Rita Schroeder

Mrs. Schroeder, 72, of Hazlet, died July 27, 2007, at home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in New York City, she resided in Commack, N.Y., prior to relocating to Hazlet 45 years ago. She was employed in sales at Charles of the Ritz, Hazlet, retiring in 1996. Prior to that, she was a salesperson at Rickels, Hazlet. She was a communicant of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She enjoyed the beach, needlework, classic movies and reading. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Edward H. Schroeder Jr. in 2004; and two brothers, Joseph and Francis Alexander. She is survived by six daughters and three sons-in-law, Eve and Joe Findeis of Lakewood, Calif., Janet and Jerry Pomar of Whiting, Leslie Schroeder of Hazlet, Laura and Frank Cristell of Wall, Mary Schroeder of Brick, and Kelly Schroeder of Atlantic Highlands; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Cassie Schroeder III of Hazlet; and nine grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Benedict's Church. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
