• The Mothers Center of the Jersey Shore, a nonprofit organization for moms and kids, has many activities planned in September. Upcoming activities include: playgroups and trips including Brick Beach Day, Spring Lake Park, apple picking, Klimbing Kidz, Mill Creek Park, Build-a-Bear, Windward Beach Day, Insectropolis, and much more. • The Ocean County Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 (auction), Sept. 6 (education), Sept. 8 (annual show and exhibit at the Laurelton Fire House on Route 88 in Brick, 9-3 p.m.), Sept. 20 (auction) at the Ocean Fire House, Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach. • A Health Screening Fair for Seniors will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at Brick Senior Outreach Services, 373 Adamston Road, Brick. The free event, sponsored by Meridian Health, will offer screenings in blood pressure, cholesterol, body composition, bone density, cardiology, oncology and orthopedics. • Jersey Shore PFLAG support meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 8 at the United Church of Christ of Toms River, 1681 Ridgeway Road (Route 571), Manchester. The meetings offer support, education and advocacy for parents, family and friends of lesbians and gays, bisexuals, and transgender and intersex people. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month. Although the group meets in a church building, it is not affiliated with any religious organization. • A car wash fundraiser for the Brick Memorial Marching Mustangs will be held Aug. 11, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Chevy's Fresh Mex in Brick Plaza, Route 70 and Cedar Bridge Avenue, Brick.

• A blood drive will be held at FirstEnergy Park, Home of the Lakewood BlueClaws, 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood, Aug. 11, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The drive is open to the public. All donors will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium including the locker room and announcer's booth. The first 200 presenting donors will receive a replica championship ring.
