Resident applauds work of GOP council members
Iwanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the Republican leaders who sit on the Brick Township Council. I supported and voted for them in the past and will continue [to do so] this November when I go to the voting booth. They have integrity, compassion and leadership skills that this town was sorely lacking. They have made great strides leading our township away from the days of corruption and into a brighter future.

While our former mayor was taken down in a corruption probe, they have never gloated in his departure, but have instead kept their heads held high and let the authorities deal with the criminal aspects of the charges. The mostly Republican council has moved forward with important issues - including holding the line on taxes and making government a more open and honest place - and sought a viable location for a recreation center for all the residents to enjoy.

Honesty and integrity are important things to me, and I'm sure they are to your family as well. This November I would encourage you to join with me and vote for Steve Acropolis for mayor and [Ruthanne] Scaturro, [Anthony] Matthews, [Michael A.] Thulen and [Brian] DeLuca for council. I know that with their leadership, Brick will move toward a great future for your kids and mine. In the end, that's the most important thing to strive for.

Mary Schmidt
