Chamber of Commerce names honorees The Brick Township Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of their prestigious Distinguished Citizens Awards for outstanding community service. Judge Eugene Serpentelli has been named the Distinguished Individual Award recipient; the Service Organization Award will be given to the Brick Township Historical Society; and recognized with the Business Award is PIP Printing and Document Services. Judge Serpentelli, prior to his retirement earlier this year, served as a New Jersey Superior Court Judge for almost 29 years and was Assignment Judge of Ocean County for over 22 years. During his career he authored hundreds of opinions in all areas of law, over 50 of which were published. His work in the development of affordable housing law has been nationally recognized and in a recent survey of lawyers, Judge Serpentelli ranked first among all New Jersey judges for overall competence. PIP Printing & Document Services' owner Tim Fazio has served as president of the Brick Township Rotary Club and the Brick Township Chamber of Commerce. He is well known by the nonprofit agencies throughout Ocean County for his generosity and support. The Brick Township Historical Society can point to a very long list of accomplishments that are anything but in the past. Throughout the year, they hold programs for children and adults that are entertaining as well as educational. They maintain the Havens Homestead Museum that displays room settings, furnishings, and decorations. According to Chamber President Thomas Addalia, who was an award recipient in 2000, the chamber feels "it is our privilege to recognize the accomplishments of some of our community's heroes." A special awards dinner will be held in their honor on Dec. 6 at the Crystal Point Yacht Club, Point Pleasant. For more information, please call the chamber at (732) 477-4949. |
