            The materials of the Ocean County Library can be borrowed and home delivered free of charge through the library's Home Borrowers Service. The service is available to county residents who are permanently or temporarily disabled or lack transportation. Amedical note is not required.

      Twenty nonprofits receive 2008 arts grants
            The arts are alive and well in Ocean County, thanks in part to 20 grants awarded to local nonprofit groups by the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission. The program is funded through money the commission receives from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

      Ireland tour sponsored by Ocean County College
            Ocean County College (OCC) will sponsor an Ireland tour from June 22 to July 2. It is open to all members of the community. The tour includes transport by luxury motor coach with a driver/guide for 10 days. Hotel accommodations include private bath for nine nights. Scheduled meals include nine full breakfasts and seven dinners.

      Recycling changes in effect in Ocean County
            Ocean County residents no longer have to tie or bundle newspapers, junk mail and magazines for recycling. Instead, it can all go in one bin. Under the changes, towns that use private recycling collectors began the new collection on Jan. 2, and those towns that have public works departments collecting recyclables will begin in early February.

      State boating safety certificate offered
            The U.S. Coast Guard Division 16 is offering a boating safety certificate test for experienced boaters to be in compliance with New Jersey State marine requirements. The fee for the test is $25 and will be given at 8 a.m. on Feb. 9 and Feb.

      Warren Wolf to be honored at Feb. 23 gala
            The New Jersey Football Coaches Association will host "The Warren Wolf Gala," a black-tie event to honor legendary Brick Township coach Warren Wolf. The event will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Feb. 23, at the East Brunswick Hilton, 3 Tower Center Blvd., East Brunswick.

      Brick Youth Club to hold dances, open gym time
            The Brick Youth Club (BYC) will hold several winter dances for middle school students, with more dates to follow throughout the school year. Dances will start at 7 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. and will be held on Feb. 15, Feb. 29 andMarch 21. Prompt pick-up is appreciated. Reservations will be taken from the Monday prior to the event through Thursday night.

      Brick Township Police Dept. Drug Hotline
            The Brick Township Police Department provides a "Drug Hotline" for citizens to report drug-related activity. The hotline was established as a means of providing the public with the opportunity to anonymously report drug activities in their neighborhood. It is answered and monitored by detectives assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit. Messages are checked on a daily basis.

            Ocean County College, Toms River, is offering the following day trips to museums and attractions in NewYork City and Philadelphia. All ages are welcome. The Frick Collection, "Parmigianino's Antea" exhibit, with lunch in the United Nations delegates' dining room, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 12. The fee is $119.

      Items accepted now for March gift auction
