      'Seussical Jr.' to be performed Feb. 22, 23

      Kidz-4-Kidz, under the auspices of The Guild Theatreworks Inc., will present three performances of "Seussical Jr." - 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22, and 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23. The show will be held at Brick Township High School, 346 Chambers Bridge Road. Tickets are $10 for general admission.

      "Seussical Jr." is part of The Broadway Junior Collection based on the works of Dr. Seuss. "Seussical Jr." incorporates elements fromat least 15 of his books as well asmany of his best-loved and most familiar characters. Many of the characters have nevermet one another before, but theymeet in thismusical. In the course of the evening, some will fall in love, some will have desperate adventures, and some will save the world. They will travel everywhere, from the Jungle of Nool toMcEligott's Pool to PalmBeach.

      Dr. Seuss believed in helping a friend, in not giving up and in keeping a promise. He believed in the value and dignity of others, in working to preserve the natural world, and that peace is the ultimate ideal among nations and in every heart. These concerns can all be found at the heart of "Seussical."

      Aportion of the proceedswill benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation - - Hope and Help for Children with Cancer.

      Kidz-4-Kidz, founded in 2003 by Ashley Vermeulen and Kate Lindstrom, uses the theatrical arts to raise money for children with cancer through The Ashley Lauren Foundation.

      The cast is composed of over 60 children ranging in age from 4 to 18. Zack Jones of Brickwill play the role of the Cat in theHat. Also fromBrick are SteveAddison asHorton the Elephant, Lindsey Murphy as Gertrude McFuzz, P.J. Ternosky as JoJo, and Taylor Bogan as the Sour Kangaroo. Playing the Bird Girls are Kayla Bogan and Malorie Visser of Brick, and Amanda Messenger of Toms River. Melissa Silano of Manalapan will play the role ofMayzie LaBird.
