Acropolis fills energy gap in more ways than one

There is an energy and excitement in Brick Township these days. Have you noticed it?

It comes from the office of newly elected Brick Township mayor, Steve Acropolis, who is a whirlwind of positive energy and a repository of excellent ideas of how to make our lives better in Brick Township.

One of the things I was recently impressed with is the mayor's idea of exploring the option of adding a wind turbine and/or solar energy panels to the energy mix for Brick Township government buildings.

The mayor's logic is that these types of alternative energy generators will pay for themselves over a six- or seven-year period as energy prices continue to escalate. Thereafter, they will be a net plus to the taxpayers.

That's the kind of leadership, vision and action Brick Township has sorely needed for a long time.My hat is off to Mayor Steve Acropolis.
