      Brick Memorial wrestling tops Southern
            The Kiley family name has been a familiar one in the Brick Memorial wrestling family in recent years. And it was Mike Kiley with a 2-1 overtime victory at 171 pounds - his second overtime victory of the day - that sealed Brick Memorial's 36-24 victory over Shore Conference rival Southern and BrickMemorial's first NJSIAA Group IV championship since 1999.

      Brodeur, Hahn win group titles in track and field
            Distance runner Andrew Brodeur of Brick Memorial and shot putter DeAnne Hahn of Brick Township have been regulars to the NJSIAA Meet of Champions and both will return to the John Bennett Arena in Toms River on Saturday morning after excelling in the groups meets there this weekend.

      Boys hockey teams square off for a third time
            For the second time in a little over a week, Brick Township and Brick Memorial square off again at Ocean Ice Palace on Monday this week in the opening round of the ShoreConferenceASouth Tournament, and both coaches felt their teams werewell prepared for that and theNJSIAA Tournament that starts nextweek. Pairings for that tournament come out late thisweek.

      Mat Rats finish second at League Championships
            Brick Recreation Mat Rats I finished second in the Jersey Shore Junior League championships for the second straight year to three-time champion Jackson on Saturday at Jackson but still has plenty of fond memories. "The kids again stepped it up," said Mat Rats coach Joe Favia.
