Catherine Ann Neff

Mrs. Neff, 82, of Union Beach, died Feb. 16, 2008, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Brick. Born in New York City, she spent most of her life inNew Jersey andmoved toUnion Beach in 1955. She graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, in 1948, and went on to receive a postgraduate degree in education from Kean University, Union. Mrs. Neff was a kindergarten teacher in Union Beach for 25 years. Her husband of 57 years, Walter Neff Jr. and a sister, Mary Van Kirk, predeceased her. Surviving are a brother, Monsignor James J. Finnerty of Jersey City; two sons and daughters in law,Walter G. III and JacquelineNeff of Brick, and James J. and Christine Neff of Atlantic Highlands; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donationsmay bemade to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Holy Family, P.O. Box 56, Keyport, NJ 07735. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, handled the arrangements.
