BOE incumbents deserve to be re-elected, reader says

Ihave been involved in our community for a very long time. I have put children through the Brick school district and now have grandchildren entering it. I have been involved in the Boy Scouts for almost 38 years, served as a past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and have been an active member in the Brick Township Rotary, the Veterans of Foreign War and the Old Guard.

I tell you all of this because I like to believe I know what is best for Brick Township, children and taxpayers alike. This year is a very important election for the Board of Education, and I am pleased to be able to vote for the team of Pannucci, Rosa and McBride. In a day where the state is shortchanging our communities more and more, we need dedicated and experienced people working on our behalf.

This team understands what it means to bring the children of Brick a quality education while being fair to the taxpayers at the same time.

Frank Pannucci is a retired teacher who put both his children through Brick schools and then through college. Dan Rosa also has his children in our school district and I have spoken to himabout this revenue generating ideas to make our school system financially self sufficient so a day can come when we don't have to rely on the state. Ed McBride rounds out this team because of his years ofmilitary service and as a retired police officer that brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new levels of security our children and staff must have in an age where it is unfortunately necessary.

These are individuals who face criticism and praise alike for trying to do the right thing. Their decisions might not always be the most popular, but I assure you they are the most reasonable. All three have a vested interest in our community, and I wish them the best of luck.
