      Reader upset with 'smear' letter about BOE members
            Former Board of Education member John Talty wrote a nasty letter that was recently published attacking Board of Education members Frank Pannucci and Dan Rosa. Talty lost his bid for re-election after one term and sought the board's approval recently when he interviewed to be appointed to Councilman DeLuca's vacant seat.

            George Peabody said "Education is a debt due from present to future generations." On April 15, you must pay your taxes and vote in Brick Township's war against poverty. That's right - poverty. Because at some point we have forgotten that the best defense against poverty is with a good education.

      Bald eagles face shaky return from the brink
