      Memorial, Twp. lax teams net mixed results
      Each team wins and loses games during opening week
            Brent Middlemiss got his first career victory as a head varsity coach in his first game with Brick Memorial's boys lacrosse team when it beat Jackson Liberty, 6-3.             What a difference a year makes for Heather Bormann of Brick and the York College (Pa.) women's softball team. Bormann was a freshman out of Brick Memorial getting acclimated to the faster game of college playing at shortstop and the team struggled in a 16-23 season.

      Memorial baseball gets off to great start, out of state
      Mustangs post 3-0 record during Florida trip
            Brick Memorial's baseball team was only flying back from Florida on Sunday night but it was more like a "red-eye" flight. The team swept all three games impressively in a season-opening trip to Orlando and Disneyland, outscoring teams from Medina, Ohio; Skyline, Colo., and Montour, Pa. by a combined 17-6.
