      Boot Camp and Pilates programs to be offered
            The Brick Recreation Department has teamed up with local instructors to offer a series of fitness classes for adults. The classes will be held at Windward Beach, Princeton Avenue, beginning in May. Four sessions of Fitness Boot Camp will beginMay 2. Each session will be four weeks long with classes meeting three times per week for an hour.

      N.J. Stars information session to be held May 1
            A N.J. Stars information session will be held at 6 p.m. on May 1. The statewide program provides high school students in the top 20 percent of their graduating class the opportunity to attend a New Jersey community college for the first two years free.

      OCC to offer SAT review in May
            Ocean County College (OCC) will offer Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) reviews in critical reading, critical writing and math. The 10-hour four-week sessions will be offered from 7-9:30 p.m. in Room 17, on the main campus on College Drive, Toms River.

      Raffle to help raise money for scholarships
            The Brick Township Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation is sponsoring its Dream Dollars Raffle, an opportunity for individuals to make their own dreams come true as well as those of local students. The raffle is limited to 200 tickets, which are $100 each, and the grand prize is $10,000 based on the sale of all the tickets.

      C.J. Wind Ensemble at Toms River H.S. May 1
            The Toms River High School North Gold Wind Symphony will host the Central Jersey Wind Ensemble in a benefit concert for the Denise Hughes Memorial Scholarship Fund on May 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school, 1245 Old Freehold Road. The fund was established at Brookdale Community College, where Denise, who succumbed to cancer recently, was a chemistry lab instructor.

      Kids Stuff Flea Market to be held in Lakewood
            A Kids Stuff Flea Market will be held at Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 100 vendors have registered for the event to sell new and recycled kids- and baby-related items.Admission is free. The event will be held rain or shine.

      Animal center Dog Walk to be held May 10
            The seventh annual Dog Walk benefiting the homeless animals at the Jersey Shore Animal Center will be held from noon to 3 p.m. May 10 at the Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. The rain date will be May 17. Water stations will be available for humans and canines along the trail. Pets must be licensed, have up-to-date vaccinations and be leashed at all times.

      Bank hosts 'Shred Days' to prevent identity theft
            Identity theft is the fastest-growing financial crime in the United States. New Jersey has one of the strongest consumer protection laws to fight identity theft, but it still happens. OceanFirst Bank is helping the public to prevent identity theft by holding two "Shred Days." The first will be held from 3-6 p.m. April 18 at the bank's Brick Pavilion branch, 70 Brick Blvd.

            ASSE International Student Exchange Programs (ASSE) is seeking local host families for boys and girls from a variety of countries around the world. These students are 15 to 18 years of age and are coming to this area for the upcoming high school year or semester.

      Ireland tour sponsored by Ocean County College
            Ocean County College (OCC) will sponsor an Ireland tour from June 22 to July 2. It is open to all members of the community. The tour includes transport by luxury motor coach with a driver/guide for 10 days. Hotel accommodations include private bath for nine nights. Scheduled meals include nine full breakfasts and seven dinners.

            The Toms River-Ocean County Chamber of Commerce will host its 45th annual reception and dinner dance/installation of officers at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at The View Restaurant at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, 2 Augusta Blvd., Lakewood. The gala will honor Sen. Andrew R. Ciesla, Sen. Leonard T. Connors Jr. and Sen. RobertW. Singer with "Distinguished Citizens of the Year" awards.

      Brick Township Police Dept. Drug Hotline
            The Brick Township Police Department provides a "Drug Hotline" for citizens to report drug-related activity. The hotline was established as a means of providing the public with the opportunity to anonymously report drug activities in their neighborhood. It is answered and monitored by detectives assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit. Messages are checked on a daily basis.
