      Resident upset at mayor, official's meeting manners
            I was in attendance at the Brick Township Council meeting on April 29 and was appalled at what I saw and heard. My shock and outrage has nothing to do with the issues or the agenda or even the political party of the offenders, but rather the demeaning manner in which Mayor Acropolis and council President Ruthanne Scaturro spoke to a council member and a township resident.

      Reader says Ocean Ice Place math easy to get
            Well over a year ago, our Brick Township Council informed us that the purchase price for the ice rink was to be $5.2 million. Can this be any simpler? Apparently this figure cannot sink into the mind of Brick resident Joe Lamb, who has made a pilgrimage to the council chambers podium numerous times challenging the mayor and council concerning the price.

      Ocean Ice Palace purchase belongs on the ballot
            I believe that a township community center is needed, but of what magnitude and at what cost? Is the Ice Palace the best choice for it? Too many questions are being left unanswered. Do we have current estimates of the total costs involved? Do we have the purchase costs, the bonding costs, the costs of renovations and the cost of additions to the property?

      Parent frustrated with Brick's school finances
            As a parent of two school-age children - my older son is in second grade and my younger one starts kindergarten this September - I have reached my limit with all that is going on with our school budget (or lack thereof) and would like to have my say. I was among the parents and students who marched in Trenton to voice our discontent with the new state funding.
