      Mustangs boys lacrosse completes 6-10 campaign
      Many team members will be back in 2009
            Despite some frustrating spurts caused in part by injuries, Brick Memorial High School's boys lacrosse team put together a competitive season. In fact, the Mustangs were in the running for a .500 season before losing their last two games to finish 6-10.

      Brick girls lax finishes banner season for program
            Just seconds after goalie Jess Khalil made a great save for Brick Memorial's girls lacrosse team, teammate Johanna Corino took a feed from30 yards out on the other end, advanced to the goal in a 1-on-1 situation with a defender and fired in the game-ending goal midway through the second overtime against Point Pleasant Borough early last week.

      Memorial softball finishes season with 5-15 mark
      Young Mustangs lost many close games
            BrickMemorial High School's softball team finished 5-15, but the record is misleading and many young starters fine-tuned their talents for next season. Six seniors graduate from a team that was close to reversing that record and often had the lead in late innings of its losses. It lost its Shore Conference Tournament opener, 7-3, to Monsignor Donovan late in the season.

      Brick Township boys lax end season on top
      Bogert finishes 8-10 campaign with 32 goals, most in a single season
            Ken Bogert and his fellow Brick Township boys lacrosse teammates could not find a better way to end the season. Bogert scored two goals as Brick Township beat Jackson Liberty, 6-5, on Monday last week to end with its most victories (8- 10) in its young three years of varsity-level play.
