Reader announces Brick's 'Hall of Shame'

The Brick Community Center "Hall of Shame" was established on June 10, 2008.

We would like to congratulate the following inductees for their dubious, underhanded and self-deprecating achievements: Councilwoman Kathy Russell, Sal Petoia, Joe Lamb, Jeannine Schwartz, George Cevasco, Mike Mastroserio, Harvey Langer, Mike Blandina and the Asbury Park Press editorial department. It is through their efforts that they destroyed a town project, which would have benefited everyone despite the spin to the contrary.

We will always remember these aforementioned people when they speak publicly or publish future letters as to their creditability and disdain for community well being. The hurt runs deep thru this town - time will prove this!

They had a golden opportunity Tuesday night to withdraw the petition allowing the council to reapproach the Ocean Ice Palace owner, but that was never their objective, despite the smoke screen!

In the end, not only did this group destroy a much sought after community center, but maligned the business reputation of the Ocean Ice Palace. These activities ranged from public comments on private contractual negotiations to the condition of the buildings and grounds without expert documentation, which had to affect revenues.

If you were to compile all the negative articles in the Asbury Park Press and local newspapers, it would warrant an interesting lawsuit, which should be entertained by the owner.
