      'Distasteful madness' at meetings must stop
            As a citizen of Brick Township it gives me no pleasure to write this letter, but the recent vindictiveness and mean spiritedness of certain Republican members of the Township Council has exceeded even what I have come to expect from them. Their recent actions border on frightening.

      Mayor talks out of both sides of his mouth
            First I'd like to say to anyone who blames Kathy Russell or SOS for the current situation, you're nuts. She just let people know what should have been public knowledge anyway. There's no way something like this should be kept secret. Not with $9.9 million of taxpayers money at stake.

      Stop Overspending group has political agenda
            My head is spinning after reading Joseph Lamb's most recent letter saying that the Ice Palace was about political patronage. First of all, Mr. Lamb is playing up to a single statement that the Ice Palace owner is looking for a higher price as the primary reason for withdrawing her offer to sell the property to the township.

            The June 12 Brick Bulletin showed strong editorial support for the acquisition of the Ice Palace and sought to lay blame for the failure to purchase it.

      Reader takes issue with recent letters to editor
            It is with much interest that I have read the various letters to the editor over the past month. I am stunned at the use of blatant mistruths by many of these letter writers. Lies are not what our founding fathers meant by freedom of speech.
