      American DanceWheels to perform July 12
            The Ocean County Library will sponsor a performance and demonstration by the American DanceWheels 3 p.m. July 12 at Toms River High School, 55 Hyers St. The program will consist of a performance of multiple dances, a discussion of wheelchair ballroom dancing and a minilesson presented by the creators of American DanceWheels, Melinda Kremer and Ray Leight.

            A benefit for Avery Lubrecht will be held on July 26 at the Elks Club, Hooper Ave., Brick. Avery Lubrecht is a 4-year-old girl who had neurosurgery for a medulla blastoma at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

      Mobile blood drive to take place July 22
            The Central Jersey Blood Center will conduct a mobile blood drive 5-8 p.m. July 22 in parking lot B at the Ocean Medical Center, 425 Jack Martin Blvd., Brick.       Animal center to sponsor dog washes this summer
            The Jersey Shore Animal Center (JSAC), 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, is sponsoring a dog wash from noon to 3 p.m. July 12, 13, Aug. 9, 10, Sept. 13 and 14. No appointment is necessary.             The Brick Rotary Club is holding its 24th Annual Bullet Proof Vest Fund dance, featuring music by the Dr. Cheeko band, at 7 p.m. July 25 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 373 Adamston Road, Brick. The $30 per person fee will include a hot and cold buffet. Proceeds will purchase bulletproof vests for Brick police officers. There will be advance ticket sales only.

      Season beach badges, parking permits on sale
            The Brick Township Recreation Department has announced that season beach badges and season parking permits for summer 2008 are now on sale in the Brick Recreation Department. The price for season badges is $30. The price for season parking is $30 for Brick residents and $40 for nonresidents and includes any applicable sales tax. Children 12 and under are free.

      Boating basics course to be offered July 30, 31
            A boating basics course will be offered by N.J. Boating Classes in Brick 6:30-9:30 p.m. July 30 and 31. The course meets the needs of boaters and personal watercraft (PWC) operators for a basic, two-evening overview of boat and PWC operation, while meeting the current New Jersey state requirements for boating safety education certification. The cost of the class is $65.
