      Officials should stay for entire council meeting
            If an elected official is voted in, and I voted for him or her, they better not be walking out on any meeting. I voted you in to do a job. You should know your scheduled meetings and make time for them. I don't care what has been done in the past.

      Democratic municipal chair blasts GOP officials
            The recent conduct and actions at Brick Township council meetings is deplorable. The mayor and four or five council members attack and try to discredit those who disagree with their beliefs at every meeting. They even allow their cronies to speak and make false accusations against Democrats. They seem to think that it is their way or no way.

      GOP officials vindictive and self-serving, Dem prez says
            Republicans are again attacking former Democratic Mayor Dan Newman by seeking to recover interest on a sewer bill that was never issued by the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority (BTMUA). But Newman is blameless. Look at it this way. Let's say you used a credit card to make a $20 purchase.

      Politicians' campaign promises lack substance
            Prior to elections, our mailboxes, telephones, television, etc., are inundated with promises from potential aspirants to various office to sincerely represent the best interests of their constituents. But after a successful campaign and securely ensconced in their vaunted goal, most politicians ignore the plaints and problems of their electorate.
