      Testa accomplishes major league feat, signs with Twins
      Former Twp. pitcher recently finished stellar career at Wagner College
            Brick native Joe Testa is in Fort Myers, Fla., but not on summer vacation. The record-setting lefthanded pitcher, who just completed his career at Wagner and whose family resides in Jackson these days, has been getting ready to play for the Gulf Coast Rookie League team there after signing a free agent contract with the Minnesota Twins.

      American, National teams up to the challenge in state tourney
            Three younger district championship teams from the Brick American and Brick National programs found it isn't easy competing in the Cal Ripken state tournament, but they measured up to the challenge. Brick American was knocked into the loser's bracket Sunday night by Sacred Heart, 4-3, after winning its opener, 8-5, over Mays Landing.

      Brick American 14's capture district crown
            Many players on Brick American's 14-year-old All-Stars accomplished something that was done only once before recently, they've played on three district championship teams. It happened in the earlier part of the decade when many players were on the same team that won the district 11-yearolds, 12-year-olds and junior championships, the latter in 2004.
