Reader questions twp. attorney's job duties

Please someone help me understand the responsibility of our township attorney.

I believe the attorney's job is to advise the Township Council and mayor on anything to do with legal aspects of our township.

I cannot believe that the mayor and council have been allowing Jean Ciprianni to voice her personal opinion when she is neither a resident nor a taxpayer of Brick. Is it not the responsibility of our attorney to represent all elected and council persons regardless of their political affiliation?

Does our attorney not know this? Is our code of ethics being violated?
