Alzheimer support group to meet once a month
      An Alzheimer support group, led by Joanne Prospero, meets every fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Worthington Assisted Living facility, 458 Jack Martin Blvd., Brick. It's open to anyone from the community who feels a need to share their experience or learn from others.

Training to be provided for crisis hotline
      CONTACT of Ocean County, a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline, will offer training for volunteers from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for 13 weeks beginning Sept. 16 in the Brick area. Annual peach festival to be held Aug. 22

Blood drive to be held Aug. 24, 29
      A blood drive will be held Aug. 24 and 29 at the Ocean County Mall, 1201 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Brick VFW will host picnic for Labor Day
      Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8867, Brick, will host a Labor Day picnic from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 31 at the post's picnic grove at 373 Adamston Road, Brick.
