      Seniors can't cope with taxes and inflation
            In analyzing the recent decision that our Brick elected officials chose to raise our property taxes again, I firmly believe that they are really trying to eliminate the senior citizens in our community. Along with the Board of Education and the county taxes that are also being raised, the senior citizens will be filing bankruptcy shortly.

      Act now to stay in open space race
            New Jersey voters have repeatedly raised their own taxes to preserve the state's dwindling open spaces and natural lands. But New Jersey is now in danger of running out of preservation funding for the first time in decades. The Legislature must act before mid-August to place an open space ballot question before voters this November.

      Organization urges public to boycott 'Tropic Thunder'
            In their effort to create edge-of-the-line humor for maximum audience interest, Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures have definitely crossed the line into offensiveness. They insist that the big summer movie "Tropic Thunder" is making fun of the "stop at nothing" attitude of actors and the entire filmmaking industry.

      Medical error information should be readily available
            Over 98,000 people die each year as a result of preventable medical errors. A plane crash would need to occur every day in the United States for an entire year to even come close to the preventable medical error death toll. More than 150 people were tragically killed Wednesday when an airliner swerved off the runway and crashed at Madrid Barajas Airport.
