      Trip to Feast of San Gennaro in New York planned
            The Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Committee will host a Sept. 14 trip to the Feast of San Gennaro in New York City. The bus will depart from the Barnegat Municipal Complex at 9:45 a.m. and from Brick Plaza at 10:30 a.m. It will return to Brick at about 8 p.m.

      Heart disease support group to meet Sept. 25
            Mended Hearts, a support organization consisting of heart patients, their families, health professionals and other interested persons, will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 25 in the main conference room at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick.       Animal center to sponsor dog washes this weekend
            The Jersey Shore Animal Center JSAC), 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, is sponsoring a dog wash from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 14. No appointment is necessary. JSAC volunteers will do all the work. All proceeds from the $10 per dog fee will go directly to help the homeless animals at the center.       Breakfast at the Inn to be held Sept. 21
            The Brick Township Historical Society will sponsor its annual Breakfast at the Inn Sept. 21 at the Havens Homestead Museum, 521 Herbertsville Road, Brick. There will be two seatings — 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Featured items will be ham, sausage, eggs, French toast, muffins and breads, juice and coffee/tea.

      Church of the Visitation to hold super raffle
            As part of its 60th anniversary celebration, The Church of the Visitation, Brick, will hold a super 50/50 raffle to benefit the Faith for the Future building fund. The raffle will be limited to 200 tickets and will cost $100 each. The grand prize is $10,000 based on the sale of all the tickets.

            The Jersey Shore Animal Center (JSAC) will host its first annual Canine Cotillion 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Grenville Hotel and Restaurant, 345 Main St., Bay Head. The event will include a red carpet arrival, dinner buffet, cash wine bar, entertainment, photographs and a gift auction.

            The Town Square Treasure Chest, together with The Ashley Lauren Foundation, will host a "Pavement Flea Market" 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27 in the store's parking area at 300 Brick Blvd., Brick. The Ashley Lauren Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children suffering from cancer and their families.

      Ocean County College to offer Praxis Review
            Ocean County College will offer Praxis Review sessions in October and November at the college's main campus on College Drive in Toms River. Reviews in general science, elementary education, social studies, middle school math and English language, literature and composition will be offered at a cost of $199 per course.

      Ninth annual KiteFest to be held on Brick Beach
            The Brick Municipal Alliance Committee on Alcoholism, Drug Abuse and Youth Services (B-MAC) will host the 9th Annual KiteFest on Sept. 20 at Brick Beach III, Route 35 North. This free event is open to all residents of Brick Township and features kite assembly, kite flying and entertainment.
