      Dragons Pee Wee football team ready for another big season
            The Brick Dragons Pop Warner Pee Wee team continues the trend of last season with many players up from the Junior Pee Wee team that did not allow a touchdown during its Jersey Shore Junior League season. With Kevin Matthews also moving up as coach, the Pee Wees shut out their first two opponents.

      Hockey All-Star game raises funds for charitable foundation
            NHL veteran and Brick native Jim Dowd could not be any happier with the turnout for his Shoot for the Stars Ocean vs. Monmouth All-Star game last month at the Red Bank Armory that raised $25,000 for the Marks Family Foundation.

      Brick Mustangs prepare to open season this weekend
            Things apparently are looking up for the Brick Mustangs of the Jersey Shore Football League as they move from the A to the B Division with the Brick Dragons. Also in the division when the season began on Aug. 30 are Southern, Point Pleasant and River Plaza. The Brick teams will collide around midseason in the Mayor's Trophy game.

      Testa still living his baseball dream
            Joe Testa's roller coaster ride in the minor leagues continued over the weekend. Testa pitched for the Fort Myers Miracle of the Minnesota Twins in the best-of-five championship series for the High A League in Florida. The former Brick Township High pitcher whose family has relocated to Jackson is expected to relieve as he did in his last two outings.
