Reader entranced with Palin pick for vice president Ihave never been so pleased hearing a politician speak than when Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, accepted the Republican Parties nomination for vice presidential candidate of her chosen party. She is like a breath of freshly picked roses. This country of ours needs change and change it will get come Nov. 4. Palin brings to the table a unique difference that only a wise, intelligent woman of stature can provide. This alone is change. Her talented poise in front of millions is just the beginning of things to come. She will be the compelling force that helps bring victory to our next president, John McCain. This will be the biggest change. America needs John to save us from those who want to destroy our way of living. Let us never forget the reason why Palin was chosen to be John McCain's right-hand woman. It's because she adds vim and vigor to a person who had it beat out of him while being a POW, but never gave up the fight. McCain still has tons more to give to us, but we keep hearing of his age, and Palin will dispel those remarks with her unmistaken womanly charm and wit. I grantee you that she will not be another Hillary, that mold was thankfully broken just this past week in Denver. The ultra left liberals, along with the misguided press and media, are already conjuring up filthy articles concerning Palin's family. This is a low blow laced with lies and should be out of bounds concerning the family. A few quotes from the past come to mind when I hear these unsubstantiated statements about her and her loving family. The first came from a 1697 William Congreve play titled, "The Mourning Bride." The complete quote is, "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned." These perverted people of untruths had better watch out what they say and print. All females take note. The second quote that deserves mention came from a dastardly person who designed the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941, Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto. He stated after the attack, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." He goes on to say, "I would rather you made your appraisal after seeing what the enemy does, since it is certain that, angered and outraged, he will soon launch a determined counterattack." I await the counterattack with baited breath. Go get 'em Sarah; you're a giant among women. You have millions of women anxious of furthering your cause. They are standing up for you and a better America. God, country and family go together. You have proven this, and I thank you. America needs a "fighter pilot" to defend us and a "hockey mom with lipstick" to protect his back. Scorn, lies and deception had better take a back seat to these two. May God bless you, your family and of course John McCain and his loved ones. Art Sholty Brick |
