Gertrude A. Ernst
      Mrs. Ernst, 80, of Manalapan, died Oct. 10, 2008. Born in Bayonne, she lived in Jersey City before moving to Manalapan 20 years ago. Mrs. Ernst worked for New Jersey Bell/Bell Atlantic in Jersey City as a telephone operator for more than 30 years before retiring in 1989. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert.

George Howley Krauss
      Mr. Krauss, 75, of Spotswood, died Oct. 4, 2008, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to retiring in 2005, he worked for the Spotswood Board of Education as the operations foreman. He was also a volunteer firefighter in South Amboy.
