BY PATRICIA A. MILLER Staff Writer

BRICK TOWNSHIP — Police recently arrested a Jackson Township woman and charged her with stabbing her estranged husband with a kitchen knife.

Sandra Germe, 40, Hope Chapel Road, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and possession of a weapon in connection with the stabbing of Ahmed Mustapha, 30, Brick, according to the police report.

The incident occurred at 10:16 a.m. Oct. 20 on Kentwood Boulevard. Police said the domestic dispute began with a physical altercation and escalated when Germe stabbed Mustapha four times with the knife, the police report states.

Mustapha was treated at the scene by Brick Police EMS and MONOC paramedics for non-life-threatening wounds, one to each arm and two in the upper left chest area. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where he was treated and later released the same day, according to the police report.

Municipal Court Judge Damian G. Murray set Germe's bail at $10,000. She was taken to the Ocean County jail in lieu of bail, police said.

Patrolman Robert Koch is investigating. He was assisted at the scene by Patrolmen John Hefferon and Joseph Doyle, Sgt. Chris Rooney and Detectives James Burgess and Peter Thomas.
