Ocean County sheriff asks for assistance with toy drive

This year, as the holidays are quickly approaching, we are again seeking your help with our 2008 Sheriff's Department annual food and toy drive.

I feel that as a sign of the times we are living in, our help will be needed even more this year. We already have well over 510 children on our list.

Last year we were able to distribute toys to over 1,462 children in need in Ocean County and so far this year we are way ahead of last year with the number of families calling and asking for our assistance. We honor all requests from infants to children 12 years of age.

Unwrapped toys, gifts and nonperishable food are collected and distributed by members of the Sheriff's Department. Those interested in making donations can contact Mary McHugh at 732-929-4756.
