Elizabeth Colaner Higgins

Mrs. Higgins, 71, of Freehold, died Dec. 16, 2007, at home. Born in Neptune Township, she was a lifelong Freehold resident. She was a graduate of St. Rose of Lima School, Freehold, and Cathedral High School, Trenton. Prior to retiring eight years ago, Mrs. Higgins was a secretary for the Office of the Public Defender, Freehold. She had previously been employed by Phelps Dodge, Marlboro, for many years. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Higgins; a daughter, Cathy Pomaski of Brick; a brother and sister-in-law, LouisM. III and Gloria Colaner of The Villages, Fla.; four stepchildren, Sherrie Scott and Glenn, Michael and Scott Higgins; two grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
