Four hurt, one seriously, in Route 70 collision BRICK TOWNSHIP - Four persons were injured recently in a two-car crash on Route 70 at the intersection with Cedar Bridge Avenue, police said. Gregory J. Villamil, 31, Lakewood, and Russell Harriott, 34, Brick, were both traveling eastbound on Route 70 approaching Cedar Bridge Avenue when the accident occurred at 9:07 p.m. on Feb. 10, police said. Harriott had slowed down to make a right turn onto Cedar Bridge Avenue when he was struck from behind by Villamil's Nissan Maxima, police said. Harriott's Chevy truck spun around clockwise from the force of the impact, then rolled on its driver's side and slid roughly 50 feet into the intersection, according to the police report. Villamil, who suffered head and facial lacerations, had to be extricated from his car by members of the Breton Woods Fire Company. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune by the Herbertsville First Aid Squad. Holly Halvorsen, 33, Brick, a passenger in the Harriott vehicle, sustained neck and back injuries. Michael Nasen, 13, Brick, another passenger, suffered neck and lower arm injuries. They were both taken to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood by the Brick Township Police Department's EMS unit for treatment of their injuries. Russell Harriott sustained hand lacerations. Two children in the Harriott vehicle, Russell Harriot, 9, and Alyssa Harriott, 5, were uninjured, police said. |
