Resident questions BOE member's T-shirt sales
Board member Dan Rosa lobbied very hard to bring the sport of lacrosse to the Brick school district. After he was elected to the Board of Education, he not only voted on the sport he lobbied so hard for, but voted on the contracts of the coaches who would be teaching the sport to our student athletes.

Shortly after lacrosse was approved, Dan Rosa, through his apparel company, sold the uniforms for both high school boys teams (invoice No. 2747) in the amount of $8,000.

After Dan Rosa was on the board for two years, he voted again on the coach's contracts for the girls high school lacrosse teams, and then sold sports apparel to the Brick Township High School girls lacrosse team (invoice No. 2831) in the amount of $5,371.

In my opinion, a board member voting on coach's contracts and then selling them apparel privately for profit may be considered an ethics violation. It is certainly behavior I would never consider professional nor is it putting the children of this district first, which is what I am looking for in a new candidate.

As for Frank Pannucci, I believe he has acquired extensive knowledge as a board member, but unfortunately in my observation while serving with him on the board, has not utilized that knowledge to benefit our students or school district in the almost 20 years he has been on the board. I don't know of one positive accomplishment Mr. Pannucci can point to and say he did while I was on the board. I see no reason to give him another three years to do more of the same.

I will be giving the new candidates an opportunity to prove that they can do better for the students and taxpayers of this district.
