Reader reflects on loss of Ocean Ice Palace property
There is an old physics law that states, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." This might best be applied to the loss of Brick acquiring the purchase of the ice rink.

I truly do believe that our mayor and council had the inhabitants of Brick in mind, and that they tried to improve our quality of life by building a much-needed civic center for our well-being. For this I thank them.

Our mayor, Steve Acropolis, along with the Brick Council, tried for the brass ring, but missed. By all means, this is not to be considered a failure. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Suppose we all sat back and accomplished nothing, where would we be while trying to improve our stations in life? Close your eyes and what do we see, nothing. This is what happens without plans for the future - absolutely nothing. I don't want to live this way. Do you?

Now back to the physics law. Apparently this much talked about property is going to be developed for commercial use, and we taxpayers will benefit in the tax dollars it will bring. I hope it takes care of all, from preschool to seniors, and from those of us who are healthy to those who need help in their daily chores. Let's hope that we may arrive at a benefit for all when it is sold to commercial developers.

I hope the loss of this purchase becomes a positive reaction. We can make it happen by just believing that it will. It's called faith.
