The Brick Branch of the Ocean County Library, 301 Chambers Bridge Road, has announced its schedule of free events and programs for the month of October. • Oct. 21, 1-11 a.m., free blood pressure screening; no appointment needed

• Oct. 23, 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Friends of the Brick Library October bus trip to Pearl S. Buck House and Historic site in Perkasie, Penn. The $75 trip includes the bus, admission, guided tour, Chinese lunch buffet and book discussion. Call 732-477-4513 for details.
