Olga Nicastro

Mrs. Nicastro, 91, of Manalapan, died Oct. 15, 2008, in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born to Eugene and Eugenia Zyrski on Oct. 23, 1916, in New York City, she lived there and in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan in 1997. Prior to her retirement in 1989, Mrs. Nicastro was employed as the executive assistant and Community Services Board liaison to the New York City Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services (formerly the New York City Community Mental Health Board), where she worked for 35 years. Her husband of more than 50 years, Vincent William Nicastro, died in 1996. Surviving are a son, Thomas Nicastro, and his wife, Margaret, of Springfield, Va.; a daughter, Linda Jean Siciliano, and her husband, Robert, of Manalapan; a sister, Anna Jaros of Waynesboro, Va.; four granddaughters, Karen Siciliano Lucas, and her husband, Kevin Lucas, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Lauren Siciliano of Manalapan and Cambridge, Mass., Gabriella Kingsley, and her husband, David, of Potomac Falls, Va., and ElizabethNicastro of Springfield; and a great-grandson, Charles Vincent Lucas of Chapel Hill. Arrangements were under the direction of Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment was in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
