Computer club seeks volunteer guest speakers The Greenbriar Computer Club, Brick, is issuing a call for presentations to individuals wishing to speak at future meetings of the club and the community. Topics of interest to members and residents include timely and appropriate areas in computer hardware, software and applications, maintenance, care, operation and communications, as well as Internet telephony, HDTV and other computer and communications-related issues or technologies. Members are also interested in computer issues and topics relevant to seniors, including health care, personal safety, computer and telephone scams and consumer protection. Potential speakers are welcome to distribute relevant literature or handouts, and also to show, display and demonstrate any pieces of equipment or hardware that speakers are interested in showcasing to their audience. The club meets twice each month on alternate Thursdays, once in the evening at 7 p.m. and once in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Club meetings are generally two hours long, with a short break for coffee and refreshments. Depending on the presentation, arrangements can be made to accommodate talks for either one or both halves of the meeting. Meetings are held in the main auditorium of the Greenbriar One Clubhouse at 1 Darley Circle, Brick, which is appropriately equipped with a state-of-the-art computer, LCD projector and large projection screen. Interested speakers should contact Joel Strasser at 732-415-7556 or jjas888@aol.com. |
