      BT's Stuto cops another relay title
            For the third straight year, Lisa Stuto is on an indoor state champion shot put relay team. Combining with sophomore Katie Brunner for a throw of 73-feet, one-quarter inch, the duo gave Brick Township a fourth straight state title, something that has never before been accomplished in any group in the shot put relay, said coach Bill Brunner, who also is Katie's father.

      Memorial wins boys and girls bowling tourney
            For the third time in the 23-year history of the Brick Bowling Tournament, the girls and boys champion comes from the same high school. And just as in the previous two cases, those two teams hail from one of the high schools in the township. This time, Brick Memorial swept top honors, just as it did in 2004.

            Brick Township boys coach Barbara Floyd put it succinctly. "It was a great day for Brick swimming," said Floyd after the Ocean County boys and girls swim championships at the Ocean County YMCA in Toms River.

      High school hockey teams play to a 2-2 tie
            Brick Memorial hockey coach Chip Bruce said his team had outshot opponents in every one of its 11 games until it played Brick Township early last week. Brick Township outshot the Mustangs, 26-20, and had the lead until Brandon Person fired in an even strength goal off a pass from Erik Talty with less than five minutes left.
