Men sought in pizza delivery attack on Schindler Drive

BRICK TOWNSHIP — Police are searching for two suspects in the assault of a pizza delivery man at the Waterside Gardens Apartment Complex on Drum Point Road.

Allyn Peters, 21, Brick, an employee of Al Capone's Pizza on Mantoloking Road, flagged down Brick Patrolman Keith Prendeville at 10:47 p.m. on Jan. 16, Capt. John E. Rein Jr. said.

The employee told police that he was confronted by two males shortly after he got out of his car to make the delivery in front of building 18 on Schindler Drive, Rein said.

The men struck Peters on the back of the head with an unknown object, and continued to hit him on the head and body after he fell to the ground, Rein said.

One of the two suspects removed roughly $50 from Peters' pants pocket during the assault. The two men then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspects are described as each being roughly 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall and between 150 pounds to 175 pounds. One suspect was white, the other Hispanic. The Hispanic suspect was wearing a red sweatshirt, Rein said.

Peters was treated at the scene by members of the Community First Aid Squad for head and facial injuries, police said.

Anyone with information about the attack should contact Brick Detective Michael Bevacqua at 732-262-1120.
