Meridian to host free heart screenings

Meridian Health hospitals will celebrate American Heart Month by offering free health screenings at each of the following hospitals:

• Feb. 7, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, in Brennan Rooms 104 and 105

• Feb. 21, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, in the Community Room

• Feb. 28, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, in the Blaisdell Lobby

Each screening event will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Screenings will include free blood pressure, cholesterol, body composition and bone density. A more thorough heart risk assessment will be conducted and will include apical pulse rate and rhythm, a 10- year heart disease risk assessment, stroke risk assessment, diabetes risk assessment and depression risk assessment.
