            Nicole Nardiello and the Brick TownshipH igh School's girls bowling team are headed back to the NJSIAA championships on Monday at Carolier Lanes, North Brunswick, in search of a second straight title. And they join a familiar rival — Brick Memorial High School.

            The Mid-State Golden Blades (MSGB) will be running a free girls-only ice hockey clinic 7:15-8:15 p.m. every Tuesday in the month of February and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Wall Sports Arena. The clinic is open to all female hockey players at all skill levels. Equipment is required.

            Brick seventh-grader Dan Rackliffe has had a season to remember, competing in two wrestling programs. And he has a chance for more glory to end his season when he and his Brick Recreation Mat Rats teammates compete in the Jersey Shore Junior Wrestling League individual championships on Saturday at Long Branch.

            If you would like your sports news published, please submit a press release at least two weeks in advance of an event such as team registration or tryouts. Results of youth games and tournaments may also be submitted, as well as collegiate news about former high school athletes.

      Three headed to state track group championships
            Brick Township shot-putters Lisa Stuto and Katie Brunner and distance runner Megan Schenk advanced out of Sunday's NJSIAA Group III South state sectionals into Saturday's group championships at the Bennett Athletic Complex bubble in Toms River.

      Boys bowling coaches have high hopes for finals
            With both girls teams in Brick qualifying for the NJSIAA bowling championships on Monday, both boys teams will look to do the same when they compete in the Group III South finals at Deptford. Brick Memorial boys, who led Shore ConferenceASouth from wire to wire, competed early in the week in the Shore Conference Tournament in search of a second straight title.

            The Person brothers — senior Brandon and freshmen Adam and Tyler — played key roles as Brick Memorial High School's hockey team clinched a return to the NJSIAA tournament where it reached the Public School A semifinals last season. Crosstown rival Brick Township also clinched a berth for the second straight year.

      New BTHS softball coach has great expectations for season
            Ed Lowe, the new girls softball at Brick Township High School, is counting down the weeks leading up to the start of practice in early March and knows what it takes to develop a winning team. "I think things will be different from what everybody tells me," said Lowe, a fourth-grade teacher at Herbertsville School. "The biggest change is attitude.

      Brick soccer now has online registration
            The Twin County Soccer Association, which serves the Brick area, will now have online registration for their micro and recreational soccer programs. Twin County will also have an in-person registration from 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the recreation building on Chambers Bridge Road in Brick.
