Honor veterans with a 'shout out'

Do you know a veteran? Well, you can get that vet recognized on air through "Veterans' Shout Out," a Greater Media radio program. Carl Craft and Marty Martinez, hosts of the WRAT's morning show are honoring our country's veterans on the WRAT (95.9-FM), between 6 and 10 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Carl says, "We thought it would be a cool way to honor local veterans in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties by announcing them with a hello on the radio and a quick description of their service. We created a special page on our Web site, and we're encouraging listeners to give us the information about veterans who are family and friends."

If you would like to honor a vet with a "Shout Out," visit www.wrat.com to share information about the veteran, such as his or her name, place and date of service, any specific information about the veteran's service, the veteran's home town, branch of service or the rank achieved.

Visitors to the Web site can also include interesting background, information about any acts of heroism, funny anecdotes or stories, wounds, honors and medals.
