Lisa Stuto to compete for second straight year

      BRICK TOWNSHIP — The township has a state champion shot putter for the third year in a row. Lisa Stuto, who is headed to Eastern Michigan University this fall, secured a return trip to the Meet of Champions after leading the field in Group III from start to finish.

Four Mat Rats I wrestlers still unbeaten this season

      BRICK TOWNSHIP — Sixty-pound Jon Ghione repeated as Jersey Shore Junior Wrestling League champion as he continued unbeaten this season for the Mat Rats I team in the individual championships at Long Branch Saturday. Dan Rackliffe at 72 pounds, Matt Moore at 140 and Dan Watson at 150 also won their weight classes and remained unbeaten.

      Katie DeTuro, of Brick Township, a junior at Monsignor Donovan High School and member of the Donovan girls soccer team, was selected to travel with the USA-U16 Region I Team to Portugal for the Algarve Cup. They will be playing friendly games against the national teams and/or regional teams from Spain and Portugal.
