Library to host second annual Flowerfest Ocean County Library will present its second annual FlowerFest: "How Does Your Garden Grow" April 18 at the Toms River Library, 101 Washington St. It is the only gardening festival in Ocean County. Special guest speakers will include Mike McGrath, author and syndicated radio host of "You Bet Your Garden," and Lee Schneller, author of "The Everblooming Flower Garden: A Blueprint for Continuous Color." The festival will also have demonstrations by the Master Gardeners of Ocean County, local florists who will show how to arrange flowers and a photography seminar detailing how people can take better flowerthemed photographs. Stations will be set up around the library with videos showing garden-themed presentations. There will also be two art shows with photographs by library staff and local artists. Area nurseries will have displays in the lobby, and vendors will be in Mancini Hall. The library will host a floral arrangement competition with several categories. There will be crafts and demonstrations specifically designed for children in the Discovery Room. The festival is free and open to the public.
