      BY WAYNE WITKOWSKI Staff Writer

The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) men's basketball team junior co-captain Jay Frank of Brick was named to the NABCA Atlantic All-District Team All- Star Second Team. Frank also was selected New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Star First Team at guard.

Frank finished the 2008-2009 campaign with a career-best effort having led the team with his 393 points, good enough for a 15.7 points-per-game average, which is third highest among all NJAC players. He also leads the league with his 85.9 percent (67- 78) free-throw percentage, while ranking seventh in steals with 1.68 per game.

Frank earned one selection this year as the league's Player of the Week and is a former two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week honoree as a freshman in 2006-2007.

Frank was the Lions' high scorer 12 times over the course of the season and added six high rebounding performances as well. He poured in a career-high 36 points in the Lions' win over nationally ranked Richard Stockton College.

Frank also ranks 19th in rebounding in the NJAC (4.9 rebounds per game) and 11th in three-point shooting percent (36.1, 26- 72). He started 20 of 25 games played this year and has now started 35 of 72 career games played.

He also surpassed the 750 career point plateau this season and has now collected 809 points as a Lion. He led the Lions this past year while averaging 29.8 minutes per game and sports a 42.0 career field goal percentage (294-699) with an 81.97 percent career free-throw percentage (141-172).
