Birthday celebration for Pinelands Alliance

The Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA), the environmental nonprofit, is celebrating its 20th birthday all year long and the public is invited to attend.

PPA will take time this year to look back and build on its accomplishments over the last 20 years.

They will hold a members-only birthday bash at the Bishop Farmstead, Southampton Township, on July 25 (rain date of Aug. 1).

In addition, PPA will offer a series of monthly field trips over the course of 2009, each focusing on a different theme of the Pinelands. A field trip on Dwarf Pine Plains and the Pine Barrens Wetlands will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 21. To register, call Tom Dunn at 609-859- 8860, ext. 14 or tomdunn@pinelandsalliance. org.

PPA would like to hear from those who have known the organization during its first 20 years and is asking people to tell their PPA stories. Selected submissions may be posted on the PPAWeb site and in the newsletter. Submissions should be no more than 500 words in length and can be emailed to mikeh@pinelandsalliance.org, with the subject line to read "PPA Story Board."
