Sports Shorts A senior golf tournament, sponsored by the Ocean County Parks and Recreation, will be held May 7 at the Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis, located on Country Club Boulevard in Little Egg Harbor. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The fee is $27 per person and includes green fees and awards. The rain date is May 14. The Ocean County College (OCC) Foundation's eighth annual golf outing will be held May 5 at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Lakewood. The registration deadline is April 17. The $275 per player entry fee includes lunch, the use of driving range for one hour before the shotgun start, greens fees, golf cart and a golf gift. Players will play their own ball. An awards and cocktail reception will immediately follow the afternoon tournament. Calloway scoring, soft spikes and golf attire are required. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The Amateur Baseball Association of New Jersey (ABA), an adult men's (18 and over) recreational baseball league, is looking for baseball players and teams. Friends of Dottie's House, Brick, will hold its 10th annual golf classic May 18 at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood. Dottie's House is a transitional housing facility aiding women and children who have survived domestic violence Entry fee includes a steak barbecue luncheon, hand rolled cigars, cocktail hour and a gourmet dinner with open bar. The event will also feature a silent and live auction consisting of sports memorabilia. Registration for an individual golfer is $250; a foursome is $1,000 and includes a tee sponsor.
