The Garden State Philharmonic has received a $15,000 grant from the OceanFirst Foundation in recognition of the orchestra's ongoing efforts to perform live music at the Jersey Shore.

This $15,000 grant for both the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons will help to support the Philharmonic's ongoing efforts to present symphonic and choral masterworks alongside newer American works by composers such as John Corigliano, Joan Tower and New Jersey native, Patrick Ippolito. The award also supports the Philharmonic's community and educational engagement programs, sharing the power of music with over 12,000 residents throughout the entire Jersey Shore region every year.
