A senior golf tournament, sponsored by the Ocean County Parks and Recreation, will be held May 7 at the Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis, located on Country Club Boulevard in Little Egg Harbor. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The fee is $27 per person and includes green fees and awards. The rain date is May 14. A tennis clinic and racket demonstration will be held 10 a.m. to noon May 15 at the Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. New racket demos, refreshments and prizes will be included, as well as court play. Note level of play when registering.

The New Jersey Cynder will hold its annual tryout/evaluation session for prospective football players over the age of 18 at 7 a.m. May 17 at Westside Park in Newark. The Cynder play in the Big North East Football Federation (www.bneff.com), an AA football league headquartered in Mount Vernon, N.Y. The tryout will include a 40-yard dash, short-shuttle run, L-drill and various other positional drills. The Brick Hockey Club will hold a two-hour conditioning clinic designed to help skaters sharpen their skills prior to trying out for new teams.
