      Dog washes to raise funds for shelter
            Help your dog beat the heat this summer when the Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, hosts dog washes from noon to 3 p.m. June 27 and 28, July 25 and 26, and Aug. 29 and 30. Appointments are not needed. JSAC volunteers will do all the work. All proceeds from the $10-per-dog fee will go directly to help the homeless animals at the center.

            The Old Guard of the Point Pleasant- Brick Area will host its next dance 1-4 p.m. June 28 at the Old Guard building, 170 Duchess Lane, Brick. Those attending will enjoy three hours of music by Wes Peters and the Old Guard, a 15- piece orchestra.

      Tennis tourney will benefit Dottie's House
            Childers Sotheby's International Realty will host its fourth annual Jersey Shore Tennis Open Tournament to benefit Dottie's House at 8:30 a.m. July 25 at the Toms River Country Club, 419 Washington St. All of the proceeds will be donated to Dottie's House, which provides long-term transitional housing for women and children who have survived domestic violence.

            Register now for the "Save Barnegat Bay 8K," to be held June 27, rain or shine. The day's events will begin at the Lavallette First Aid Squad, Washington Avenue and Bay Boulevard, with an 8:30 a.m. start time.

      BTV will now take garage sale ads
            Township residents looking for help in spreading the word about their garage sale can now place an announcement on Brick Township's municipal television station, BTV. Any resident who obtains a garage sale permit can place a free announcement on the BTV bulletin board. Residents are asked to send an email to emoroney@twp.brick.nj.

      Parking permits, beach badges on sale
            Season beach badges and season parking permits for summer 2009 are now on sale in the Brick Recreation Department. The price for season badges is $30. The price for season parking is $30 for Brick residents and $40 for nonresidents. Children 12 and under are free. Checks or money orders only will be accepted for payment in the recreation office.

      Blood donors get VIP pass for Warped Tour
            New York Blood Center (NYBC) is scheduled to hold approximately 62 blood drives between now and July 18 as part of Music Saves Lives, a youth culture program of music, entertainment and lifesaving causes.

      Knights of Columbus host Radio City trip
            The Knights of Columbus Council 836, Brick, will host a trip to see the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular" in New York City Dec. 14. The cost of $142 per person includes deluxe bus transportation, first mezzanine reserved seats at Radio City Music Hall for an 11 a.m. matinee show, a voucher for a free beverage and popcorn, and dinner at Forlini's Restaurant.
