      BTV will now take garage sale ads
            Township residents looking for help in spreading the word about their garage sale can now place an announcement on Brick Township's municipal television station, BTV. Any resident who obtains a garage sale permit can place a free announcement on the BTV bulletin board. Residents are asked to send an email to emoroney@twp.brick.nj.

      BYC to host summer dances, open gym
            The Brick Youth Club (BYC) will hold summer dances for middle school students 7- 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 14, Sept. 4 and Sept. 18. Advance registration is necessary and will be taken from the Monday prior to the event through Thursday night or until the event fills. Call 732-262-1074.

      Participants needed for rescheduled event
            Due to rain on the original dates, the Brick Morning Rotary Club seeks participants for its third annual car show and garage sale sell-a-thon to be held Aug. 8. Both events will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Brick High School, Chambers Bridge Road.

      Parking permits, beach badges on sale
            Season beach badges and season parking permits for summer 2009 are now on sale in the Brick Recreation Department. The price for season badges is $30. The price for season parking is $30 for Brick residents and $40 for nonresidents. Children 12 and under are free.

            The Brick Township Board of Education provides special education services for resident special-needs children ages 3-21 who experience significant delays in speech, hearing, vision, motor coordination, developmental delays in learning, social adjustment and chronic illness.

            Church of the Visitation, 755 Mantoloking Road, Brick, will be offering a soup kitchen at noon in the church auditorium on the third Wednesday of every month. All are welcome. There is no charge.

      'Stories of the Pines' will be held Aug. 1
            The Ocean County Historical Society will host "Stories oaf the Pines" as they celebrate Children's Day from 1-4 p.m. Aug 1 at 26 Hadley Ave., Toms River. Professional storytellers/authors Gail Hunt and Roni Strain will tell about two characters they've encountered in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

      Monsters needed for this year's 'Eakfest'
            The Eak family of Brick seeks individuals to assist in their second annual "Eakfest," a haunted Halloween fundraiser that benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.       Dog washes to raise funds for shelter
            Help your dog beat the heat this summer when the Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, hosts dog washes from noon to 3 p.m. on Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. Folsom, author of "The Mad Ones: Crazy Joe Gallo and the Revolution at the Edge of the Underworld," will discuss Red Hook, Brooklyn's most notorious crime figures, and the radical spirit of 1960s New York City and its criminal underworld.
